Food is a big part of everyone’s well-being and Croswell Lexington students need a place to eat where they can connect with others, recharge, and enjoy a sense of happiness in their school. That’s why we serve food kids love to eat and create programs that encourage fun and discovery. Our nutrition services team is passionate about using fresh, nutritious, minimally processed and locally sourced ingredients. We foster a sense of adventure in students through experiential learning activities, designed with healthier students, healthier communities, and a healthier planet in mind. Chartwells is our food service partner, working with Croswell Lexington Schools. Our goal every day is to make sure that Croswell Lexington students leave the cafeteria happier and healthier than when they came in! Meet up and Eat Summer Food Services for Children: Free meals will be available to children 18 years of age and under or persons up to age 26 who are enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled that is recognized by a State or local public educational agency. The meals will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability, and there will be no discrimination during the meal service.
Meals will be provided at Doerr Field in Sandusky, Peck Memorial Park and Peck Community Schools.

We are pleased to announce that Croswell-Lexington Schools will be participating in the federal program Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) available to select schools as a part of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.  Please take a moment to complete the Education Benefits Form (one per household) and return it to your student’s school.

What does this mean for my student(s) who attend Croswell-Lexington Schools? In a CEP school, all students receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of family income. 

Why is Croswell-Lexington Schools requesting financial information? The Education Benefits Form is used to determine eligibility of a student or household.  The total count of eligible students is used to determine the funding amounts that will be made available to a school.  Every Form Counts!

Some of the supplemental grants and programs the district receives by families completing the Education Benefits Form include, but not limited to:

• Instructional supports

• Non-instructional services

• Professional Learning for staff

• Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities

• Technology

You must complete the Sharing Information with Other Programs form to grant permission for your eligibility information to be shared.

A FREE breakfast is offered to students at all buildings every morning. Students at the elementary buildings are offered breakfast in their classroom from 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. Students at the secondary buildings are offered breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:45 - 8:00 a.m.

A full breakfast consisting of an entree, choice of fruit and milk must be taken to be considered a free meal. A full lunch, which includes a fruit or vegetable, must be taken to be considered a free meal. The cost of a second entree is $2.50.

Ala Carte items can be purchased at the Middle School and High School. Milk can be purchased at all buildings for 50 cents. There is no charging ala carte items.

More about the Cros-Lex Food Service Program

The Food Service Department has a Point of Sale computer system that requires you to pay for your student's meals ahead of time. Your student will be given an account number that is also their school I.D. Number. You may deposit money into their account at any time. You may send in only one check or any amount of cash for all of your student's accounts. The full amount of the check will be deposited. The money will be divided equally unless you instruct otherwise. Please list all students on the check or on the lunch envelope. This account also gives you certain controls for monitoring their account. You may add certain restrictions i.e.. lunch purchase only, no a la carte snacks or any allergies or milk intolerances etc. Please call Ashley Peters, Director of Dining Services at (810) 679-1526 to have any of these restrictions added to your student's account. You may also request a meal history that will tell you of your student's purchases and deposits. Your student's meal consists of their choice of entrée, one service of fruit, one service of vegetable, or two servings of fruit or two servings of vegetable, grain option and milk.

Check Cashing:
We do not cash checks for anyone at any of the foodservice computers. The full amount of the check will be deposited. We also do not make change for cash.

Charging:
There is no charging Second Meals or Ala Carte items.

Skyward Access:
Parents can access their child's account through the Skyward program on the district website.  If you do not have a PIN to access the account, please contact your child's school.

Cros-Lex Food Services Department is run by Chartwells and breakfast and lunch are available for purchase each day.  (There is a free breakfast program available at all buildings.)
